Exercise Physiology Clinic

What is Exercise Physiology?

Exercise Physiology is a science-based healthcare profession focused on how the body responds to physical activity. Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) use evidence-based exercise to prevent, manage, and treat a range of conditions, from chronic diseases to musculoskeletal injuries. By understanding movement’s impact on the body’s systems, they create tailored programs to improve health and function.

Unlike general fitness training, Exercise Physiology is a clinical approach for individuals with medical conditions, disabilities, or rehabilitation needs. AEPs help manage conditions like diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, and chronic pain through structured, safe exercise in various settings, including gyms, hydrotherapy pools, and home visits.

Recognized within the healthcare system, Exercise Physiology services are covered under Medicare, NDIS, WorkCover, and private health insurance. By using movement as medicine, AEPs help reduce illness impact, prevent injury, and empower individuals to take control of their health through expert-guided exercise programs.
